the ball strikes true. dry wall lets out a hollow groan as the piece of rubber rebounds off the floor and back into his hand. it cycles once as he thinks about his next words. these, he puts more thought into. affords some time.

thwump! another bounce circulates a round of predictions as fernando starts to pool his predictions into a digestible sequence of events.

“you may want to sit down,” he says, lowering his standing desk regardless of her choice. it should come as no surprise that fernando lives by his own advice.

fernando interrupts himself as he still struggles to contain his thinking in something that is both comprehendible and fluid.

“we’ll start with the top.”

thwump! the ball leaves his hand again. this time, he aims higher to account for his lowered height. it bounces higher, jumping twice, before it comes back to its ORIGIN POINT.

“i am going to tell you, and everyone else who’s willing to listen, to stop fucking around with matters we do not understand. we must approach this situation, and other events, with the utmost caution. due diligence and practiced patience.”
